-After the opening credits Kane heads to the ring for a match. Joey Styles hypes ECW’s involvement at ‘Mania.
-Elijah Burke will be Kane’s opponent.
KANE VS. ELIJAH BURKE
-Burke opens with some punches, but Kane comes back with an uppercut that floors Burke. Elijah ducks outside and Kane hits a baseball slide. He heads outside and smashes Burke into the ring apron, then throws him back in and Kane follows. He hits a sideslam on the inside then applies a chinlock. Kane puts the boots to Burke and lands a forearm to the kidneys. More boots to the lower back and then he plants his knee in it while putting on a chinlock. Burke fights out of it and gets hit by another uppercut. Burke comes back with some fists and he hits the 4-up and a dropkick. Burke goes for the Elijah Express and Kane catches him then hits the chokeslam for the win.
***Kane wins in 3:29. Yes I’m debuting exact time for the first time in my report tonight! (1/2*).
-Backstage Estrada is shaking Henry’s hand. Henry says he’s going to do well. Chavo comes in and wants to know what’s going on. Estrada says he just informed Henry that he’d be part of the 24-man battle royal. Estrada hypes that it will be full of giants. Big Daddy V, Henry, Khali, and Kane.
-Now Colin Delaney comes in the room and he wants a contract from Estrada. Chavo’s offended by Colin thinking he deserves a contract on his show. Estrada makes a non-tile match for later in the night between Chavo and Delaney. If he wins he gets a contract.
-‘Mania is only 12 days away.
-The Mayweather video package they showed on Raw is played again.
-Kofi Kinston is headed to the ring.
-His opponent, James Curtis is already in the ring.
KOFI KINGSTON VS. JAMES CURTIS
-They lock up and Kofi gets in a standing waist lock. Curtis turns it into a side headlock. He’s thrown off, but hits a shouler block. Kofi comes back with his quickness and takes down Curtis. Now a side headlock takedown and he settles in with it. They get to their feet and Kofi hits a dropkick. Another side headlock takedown. Back to standing and Curtis throws him, but Kofi hits a shoulder block. Kofi runs the ropes and is hit with a knee to the gut by Curtis. JC puts the forearms to Kofi, then puts in an arm bar variation that Kofi kicks out of.
-Kofi with some forearms now and a couple big chops. Russian leg sweep leads to the double leg, leg drop. He sets up for the buzzsaw kick and hits it.
***Kofi Kingston remains undefeated in 3:45. (1/2*).
-Backstage CM Punk is waving his hand in front of Festus. He tells Jesse that he had an Uncle just like Festus, but that was after 3 bottles of wine on Thanksgiving. Punk asks Jesse if he’s sure Festus will be ready when the bell rings, to which Jesse says that Festus can take it to the extreme.
-After the break John Morrison is headed to the ring.
-Miz gets his own entrance as usual.
-Shelton Benjamin, their partner for the 6-man tag is out last.
-Biscuits and Gravy! Jesse and Festus head to the ring. Styles hypes Jesse & Festus vs. Morrison & Miz for the WWE tag titles on Smackdown this Friday.
-CM Punk heads to the ring.
MORRISON & MIZ & BENJAMIN VS. JESSE &FESTUS & CM PUNK
-Festus goes crazy as the bell rings and the heels jump out of the ring. Festus goes after Morrison outside and throws him back in. Festus unleashes some big right hands to Morrison that knock him down. Now a bodyslam and he tags out to Jesse. Festus slams Jesse onto Morrison and that gets a 2 count. Morrison hits a hip toss and Jesse comes back with a dropkick for 2. “CM Punk” chants erupt as he stands on the apron. Miz and Morrison charge at Jesse for a double clothesline and Jesse ducks and they fly outside. Punk planchas onto them on the outside.
-Benjamin comes in and takes out Jesse, he goes after Festus, but Festus heaves him to the outside onto Miz and Morrison as they head to the break 2:40 in.
-Back from the break Punk is working on the Miz. He hits a snap mare then a stiff kick to the back of Miz. Jesse gets a tag and puts the boots to Miz in the corner. He tags back in Punk who hits a series of kicks. Now a body slam and he drops the knee. Morrison can be heard talking junk to Punk from the apron. Punk grabs him and throws Morrison inside. Punk gets back to Miz and hits the running knee. Benjamin runs in and slams down Punk from the apron. He gets the tag in and goes to work on Punk.
-Benjamin puts in a headlock and Punk gets to his feet. He elbows Shelton in the gut and gets in a kick, but Benjamin hits a t-bone suplex and tags in Morrison. Morrison hits a corkscrew leg drop for 2 then puts in a headlock. Punk works out of it and rolls up Morrison for 2. Morrison takes Punk right back down with a few kicks and a european uppercut. Morrison boots him in the face, but Punk catches him and hits an enzuigiri. Punk makes the hot tag to Festus.
-Festus cleans house with uppercuts on everyone. He hits the running butt bump in the corner on Miz. Now a clothesline for Miz and big bicycle kick. Now Festus works on Benjamin and Morrison. Jesse sends them outside. Miz goes for the reality check, but Festus catches him and hits the flapjack and it’s over.
***CM Punk, Jesse, and Festus win in 11:49. (**).
-Styles hypes our main event of Chavo vs. Colin Delaney for later tonight.
-Tazz sends a big shot out to Rev Theory and their Wrestlemania theme song.
-Raw Rebound time and we revisit John Cena and Randy Orton vs. JBL, Umaga and Raw’s large cast of mid-carding jobbers. We also get to see the very anti-climatic finish of HHH giving the pedigree to an already lifeless Cena and Orton.
-Now Styles and Tazz rundown the ‘Mania card. Granted it was a Smackdown crowd, but Undertaker vs. Edge got the biggest pop from the live crowd. Mayweather vs. Big Show’s reaction couldn’t even be heard.
-Styles from the announce table announces Eddie Graham as the next ’08 HOF inductee. Cue the video package. Jim Ross and Ric Flair commented on Graham. Dusty Rhodes will induct Graham into the Hall.
-Delaney vs. Chavo is up next!
-We get a Mayweater vs. Big Show video package now. It’s a new one with Big Show at home. Or I missed it on Raw. Big Show is sitting at a bar in his Kitchen talking about how tiny Floyd is. His wife I assume it is, is in the background. Big Show asks how tall she is, and she flexes and says 5’11. They show Big Show training and him saying he hasn’t felt this good since his early 20’s. It was a good piece.
-Taz is in the ring with Colin. It’s like going back in time. Tazz asks if he’s willing to compete after what JBL did to him. Colin says he’s a lot beat up. Probably more then ever before in his life, but getting an ECW contract is worth it.
-Chavo heads to ringside. I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but whatever it is, it’s going to be short.
COLIN DELANEY VS. CHAVO GUERRERO JR.- IF COLIN WINS, HE GETS AN ECW CONTRACT
-The bell rings and they lock up. Colin is taken down right away and Chavo puts the fists to him. The fans chant “Colin” for a moment, but then it dies out quickly. Chavo works him over in the corner with a boot to the throat. A european uppercut and Colin pulls out a hip toss! Now a dropkick that sends Chavo to the floor! Chavo gets back in the ring and starts talking trash. He pushes Colin down and drives some forearms into the back.
-Chavo works the arm in a submission hold and slams a forearm into Colin’s chest. Chavo whips him into the turnbuckle. Colin starts throwing elbows! He goes for another dropkick, but Chavo holds the ropes and Colin crashes to the mat. Chavo hits 3 amigos then slaps Colin around. He heads up top for the Frog Splash, but Colin moves! He gets a 2 count! Chavo hits a Gory bomb and it’s over.
***Chavo wins in 4:33. (*).
-After the match Chavo’s happy. Joey wonders if Chavo will be happy at ‘Mania when he faces the winner of the battle royal.
