ECW - April 8, 2008
10:00 – Tonight’s ECW opens with Miz and Morrison making their way to the ring. Morrison takes a seat at the announce table as CM Punk makes his way to the ring.
THE MIZ vs. CM PUNK
The pair finally lock up and Miz drives Punk into the ropes. Punk reverses and gets Miz against the ropes.
The ref breaks them up. Punk steps back and grabs Miz for a headlock. Punk bounces off the ropes and takes down Miz.
Punk flips Miz to the mat and gets him in a headlock. Miz gets to his feet and struggles to get free of Punk.
Miz gets Punk in a headlock. Punk pushes Miz into the ropes, the Miz takes Punk down with a clothesline.
Miz works the headlock and takes Punk down and uses the ropes to go after Punk but Punk takes Miz down with a drop toehold. Punk works over Miz’s knee.
Punk kicks Miz in the head several times and goes for the cover. 2 count.
Miz uses the ropes to get up and Punk grabs him. Miz takes Punk down and flips him over the ropes.
Pun k climbs up the apron and punches Miz away. Miz knocks Punk off the apron then gets out of the ring and slams Punk into the ringpost.
Miz goes for the cover. 1 count. Miz gets Punk into a submission hold working his neck. Punk gets to his feet and elbows Miz in the gut.
Miz takes Punk down with a clothesline and goes for the cover. 2 count.
Punk punches Miz and follows up with several kicks. Punk climbs the ropes and takes Miz down with a clothesline. Before Punk can attack again Morrison runs up on the apron.
While Morrison is getting yelled at by the ref and ultimately ejected, Miz gets Punk in a submission hold.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:14 – Back from commercial break with Punk head butting Miz. Miz throws Punk to the mat and starts punching him and slamming his head against the ring then going for the cover. 2 count.
Miz lays Punk in the ropes and punches him in the head. The ref separates them. Miz jumps over the ropes and nails Punk in the head then climbs back in the ring and goes for the cover. 2 count.
Miz gets Punk in a submission hold. Punk reverses and goes for the cover. 2 count.
Miz gets up and slams Punk down and goes for the cover. 2 count. Miz gets Punk in a submission hold. Punk gets to his feet and elbows Miz.
They use the ropes for momentum and takes each other down with double clotheslines.
Both men struggle to their feet and Miz swings but misses Punk. Punk lands a few slaps and some kicks.
Punk runs at Miz in the corner but Miz gets his foot up and kicks Punk in the head. Miz runs at Punk, Punk flips him to the mat and goes for the cover. 2 count.
Punk elbows Miz in the back and Miz drives Punk into the corner and then whips him into the corner, running at him. Miz jumps over the ropes onto Punk and goes for the cover. 2 count.
Miz grabs Punk by the head but Punk shoves him off and hits him with a standing drop kick. Punk then follows up with a bulldog and the GTS.
WINNER – CM PUNK
Backstage Colin approaches Armando and asks for a contract. Armando says he’s too busy. Dreamer interrupts and says Colin wants to earn his contract, just give him a chance.
Armando says that he’ll give him a chance; it’ll be in a match against Dreamer. If Colin wins, he gets a contract If Dreamer loses then he is fired.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:24 – Back from commercial break with Armando in the ring. Armando announces that it’s time for the official contract signing.
Chavo makes his way out first with the Edgeheads and sits at the table set up in the ring. Kane comes out next.
Chavo puts his feet on the table and Kane knocks them off. Armando quickly defuses the situation and has Kane sign the contract first while Chavo taunts him.
Kane reminds Chavo that he lost the Championship in less than 8 seconds at WrestleMania.
Chavo says that won’t happen at Backlash because he’ll have someone watching his back. A bald man in a suit makes his way to the ring and gets Kane’s attention. Kane is then attacked by Chavo and the Edgeheads.
Kane is held down on the table and Chavo does a frog splash and sends Kane through a table.
Chavo then signs the contract and heads backstage.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:34 – Back from commercial break with Elijah Burke making his way to the ring.
ELIJAH BURKE vs. NUNZIO
Nunzio lunges at Burke and grabs him around d the waist. Nunzio tries desperately to take Burke down but has no luck. Nunzio twists Burke’s arm around and gets him into a submission hold.
Burke gets to his feet and twists Nunzio’s arm back then tosses him across the ring. Burke flips Nunzio down and then grabs him by the head and whips him across the ring then flips him to the mat.
Burke kicks Nunzio then slams his head onto the apron and kicks Nunzio in the head.
Burke grabs Nunzio by the head and starts kicking him, incorporating several punches.
Burk runs and jumps on Nunzio’s back and ends up out of the ring. Burke gets in and climbs the ropes landing on Nunzio with an elbow and goes for the cover. 1 count.
Nunzio gets to his feet and slams Burke down onto the mat. Burke sets up for the Elijah express and slams Nunzio to the mat and goes for the cover.
WINNER – ELIJAH BURKE
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:48 – Back from commercial break with Domino making his way to the ring.
KOFI KINGSTON vs. DOMINO
The bell rings and Domino takes off his shirt and throws it at Kofi. Kofi takes Domino down immediately and face plants him.
Domino punches Kofi and whips him into the ropes. Kofi rebounds and takes down Domino.
Kofi picks up Domino again and takes him down with an arm drag. Domino drives Kofi into the ropes.
Kofi takes Domino down again and goes for the cover. 2 count. Kofi works on Domino’s arm.
Kofi twists Domino’s arm back. Domino drives Kofi into the corner and breaks free from the hold. Kofi whips Domino into the corner and jumps on him, punching.
Kofi gets whipped into the corner and jumps but Domino catches Kofi’s legs and face plants him.
Domino kicks Kofi several times. Kofi struggles and gets up but Domino immediately flips him to the mat and gets him to a headlock.
Kofi gets up and breaks free, he jumps at Domino but Domino picks Kofi up. Kofi gets free and jumps down, taking Domino down repeatedly with clotheslines.
Kofi takes Domino down with a leg sweep and nails Domino with Air Jamaica. Kofi goes to whip Domino across the ring but Domino reverses and whips Kofi into the ropes.
Kofi jumps over Domino and with fancy footwork Kofi takes Domino down and goes for the cover.
WINNER – KOFI KINGSTON
Backstage Layla interrupts Eve and Kelly Kelly and states that she’s the top Diva on ECW.
***COMMERCIAL BREAK***
10:56 – Back from commercial break with Colin making his way to the ring. Dreamer’s music cues up and Dreamer makes his way to the ring.
COLIN DELANY vs. TOMMY DREAMER
Dreamer immediately takes Colin down but Colin grabs the ropes and the ref breaks them up.
Colin tries to pick up Dreamer but can’t. Dreamer flips Colin over and works on his arm.
Colin uses the ropes to flip free from the hold. Dreamer picks up Colin and slams him to the mat.
Colin takes Dreamer down and goes for the cover. 1 count.
Dreamer picks up Colin by his head and slams him to the mat. Colin struggles to get to his feet and Dreamer runs at him. Colin pulls the ropes down and Dreamer sails over the ropes.
Colin jumps off the ropes onto Dreamer. Colin struggles to get Dreamer back into the ring so he could go for the cover. Colin goes for the cover. 1 count.
Colin rolls up Dreamer again for the cover but Dreamer is out immediately.
Dreamer picks up Colin and slams him to the mat and goes for the cover. 2 count.
Dreamer sets up Colin on the ropes and hit shim with a hard chop. Dreamer climbs the ropes and goes to flip Colin down but Colin shoves him off.
Colin jumps off the top rope for a missile drop kick but Dreamer just moves.
Dreamer whips Colin into the corner. Colin kicks Dreamer and grabs him by the head. Dreamer shoves Colin away.
Dreamer sets Colin up on the ropes again and sets up the tree of woe. Dreamer grabs Colin by the head and nails him with a DDT and goes for the cover.
